These tiny harvest mice look like they’re playing a game of hide and squeak as they cling to swaying wheat stalks for a lofty lookout.
The adorable scenes were captured by photographer Maria Kula on 18 May at Windows on Wildlife photography hides. Despite blustery weather and the mice keeping a low profile for much of the day,
Maria patiently waited for the perfect moment as the little climbers briefly scrambled up the stems and paused just long enough for a few charming portraits.
Maria said it was a challenging shoot, but spending time with the tiny acrobats made it well worth the wait.
