These breathtaking aerial images show huge flocks of flamingos turning Lake Logipi in northern Kenya into what looks like a giant natural artwork.
Father-and-son photographers Burkhard Ley and Alexander Ley captured the birds from a doorless helicopter above the remote lake, where pink flamingos, dark shadows and colourful mineral-rich waters created striking patterns across the landscape.
The pair said the scene felt “absolutely surreal”, with the view constantly changing from green water and desert tones to almost volcanic-looking rock formations.
They had travelled to the remote region specifically for aerial photography, describing the experience of seeing the flamingos from above as wild, unforgettable and almost like watching nature paint from the sky.
