Fifteen-year-old UK wildlife photographer Jack Crockford from Surrey, captured these remarkably intimate portraits of a pair of urban foxes in a South London cemetery, where the animals appear so relaxed that they almost seem to be posing for the camera. The foxes, which rarely leave the cemetery and are used to seeing people every day, were photographed over several weeks as Jack spent up to five hours at a time patiently following their evening routines.
The images show the pair gathering after a day spent hunting separately, with moments ranging from curious stares straight down the lens to gentle grooming and affectionate interactions. Jack, who has been photographing wildlife for nearly three years, says the foxes’ familiarity with their surroundings allowed him to capture unusually close and natural encounters.
